New Revisions to Virginia EMS Training Funds

July 1 marks the implementation of the "new and improved" EMS Training Fund offered by the Virginia Office of EMS.  The 2008 General Assembly increased the former "$4-for-Life" fund by 25 cents.  The additional funds are earmarked for EMS education and will go directly into the EMS Training Fund.

REPORTING ADULT ABUSE

EMS Providers Required to Report Elderly Abuse


Governor Warner's Adult Protective Services (APS) Act (Senate Bill 318 and House Bill 952) was passed by the Virginia General Assemble and became effective on July, 1, 2004.  The Virginia Department of Social Services (VDSS) is responsible for administering the APS program.  To provide additional safety and protection for vulnerable elderly and incapacitate adults, this act identifies "mandated reporters."
